Statera Energy has welcomed Ofgem’s minded-to decision to include three of its projects in the Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES) cap and floor regime, marking a major step forward for the UK’s ability to store clean power.

A planning application has been submitted for a pumped storage hydro scheme at Loch Kemp near Whitebridge. As well as reducing carbon emissions and delivering greater energy security, construction of the scheme will give a £30m boost to the Highland economy and a further £57m to the Scottish economy.
